Children in Mindi hamlet, Kadilnggon village, Klaten district, Friday (11/03) gathered in IOM building at 14.00pm local time, KARINAKAS came to have activity with children on Inclusive Reading Community. Children from different education background and age were assisted to study in games by KARINAKAS education and medical team.
It started by singing together. Every child’s hand clapped each other. Their feet moved to the right and left. Dodo, a cerebral palsy (CP), although he sit on the wheelchair, he clapped his hands also. His face turned cheerful as others do. As a good big brother, he asked his little sister to sing together with friends. She was busy with a book that facilitators brought. The other girl, named Via, has disability on hearing and speaking. She is a deft. She was also very happy to clap her hands with other children.
Diffabel (different able people) on this occasion participated on the process of social inclusive. Society should accept their presence. Although they have limit of ability, society should support them to develop their skill.
The next activity was counting game. There were a lot of paper fish on the mat. They imagine that fish were on the pond. Children were divided into two group, they are asked to fish it. The group that earned a lot of fish came as a winner. Aminah, a thirty years old mentally retarded, participated with other children on counting and playing around. Game was over. It’s time for free, they can reading book, drawing something or counting assisted by KARINAKAS’ team.
